Life's Little Pleasures

Top Ways to Save

Hey everybody!

Super fun facts to bring you all today! I recently got to co-host on a Youtube series called "How to Build Your Credit TV!" ... Okay, I barged in and made myself present on the live stream, but nonetheless, I was the co-host!

Since we're speaking about the topic of credit, I want you to first, check out the livestream and listen to some valuable information regarding YOUR FINANCIAL FUTURE! Then, check out some really cool apps that I've been using to not only save, but MAKE REAL MONEY! I don't usually rave about apps, but when they're working for me, I get excited. There's absolutely no reason that you can't do it too. Free money is good money... the legal way lol.

Welcome Back

It has been such an exciting year for me, full of opportunity and change. Not only did I develop in several personal aspects, but I grew professionally as well. I moved to Haiti for six months and tested myself and my abilities. I worked my butt off to make effective change for deserving people and finding ways to change lives. It was the most rewarding experience of my life, to date. So shout out to God for holding me down in ways that I had never imagined. Haiti was a phenomenal time, good and bad experiences alike. I had time to learn and time to re-evaluate what I want out of life.

This will be my last post of the year. I've been thinking and trying to figure out why I haven't been writing, but I realized that I'm busy taking in experience. I'm not making the video I planned on making, at least not now, so please enjoy the visual story of my return! Happy Holidays, with Love!

May The Force Be With Me

6/3/2018

Five months in everybody! Just yesterday it feels like we were turning up and screaming "Happy New Year!" as the ball dropped. It's hard to believe that May has come and gone. We endured April showers, we saw a couple of  May flowers, and we are headed into the official summer months! Thank God for all that has happened in 2018 thus far. I'm going to take a moment now to recap the month of May and all of the joys and pains that came with it.  What I can say about this month is that it challenged me. Although my stress levels were high, I faced life head on and conquered all that was thrown at me. I challenged myself to smile more and to care a little less about things that weren't working in my favor. I challenged myself to be less self conscious and more accepting of my flaws. I challenged myself to practice mindfulness and to be happier all around.

Celebrating Mothers, Everywhere

5/14/2018

Sunday, May 13, 2018, many of us around the world celebrated what we know as Mother's Day. That is the day when we show extra love and appreciation to the countless women who make sacrifices each day to raise and to love us.
The natural state of motherhood is unselfishness. When you become a mother, you are no longer the center of your own universe. You relinquish that position to your children. - Jessica Lange
What many people do not realize, is that mothers are not only biological. There are a number of women who step up and mother every day, despite the fact that they did not physically give birth to those children. So thank you, mothers, for being there and for paving the way for us all. Where would we be without you?

Nice, For What?

Poem Excerpt from "When He Leaves You" by Michaela Angemeer and Suhaila Baheyeldin
First of all, I believe that a little bit of truth is in order. I keep trying to brush through life and forget the things that hurt me (like REALLY hurt me), without acknowledging that my pain is what has made me who I am.  I am strong, loving and resilient because of the things and the people who have changed my life (for the better or worst). I'm not saying I owe anybody my success or anything crazy, because you know how people get when you open up and give an inch. I do believe though, that certain things need to be put out into the open. Therefore, I feel better and more comfortable about life. I try my hardest to enter into each day with a clear and level head because I would crash and burn if I held onto things and let the past consume me. I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago that explains that life is like a hair cut. Sometimes, you have to cut off the dead ends to watch it grow. That is what I have done and that is the secret to my drive and success.
Moving on is the most rewarding and challenging thing to do, so please, do it.

March Madness: A Recap

4/1/2018

I originally created this blog as a creative outlet that would inspire me, and hopefully others, to get out there and to do more. After all, life is short. I spent two years in Georgia and had never gotten a chance to experience all that it has to offer, so I decided to kind of force myself to UNDER GO experience; hence the name. Since then, I have been active, aware and alert of things going on around me. March 2018 has been one for the books! It warmed up, I've been happy and I was able to show out! Let me explain...

Thank you Curtis, for this bit of love! Thank you for your soul and for your inspiration. Thank you for your genuine spirit and for reminding me to celebrate me every now and again. Thank you for celebrating life and all that is good... and sometimes all that is bad. Thank you for reminding me to smile and for being that friend that I needed. Thank you for allowing me to shine light into your life because it reflects back to me when I need it most. Thank you for loving God and encouraging me to take a breath. Thank you for appreciating me and for trusting me to be there. Thank you for coming into my life and being just what I needed when I needed it most. Thank you for Curtis Day!

Growing Up and Looking Out; Positive Mental Health Yields Passion

3/19/2018

Alright, hear me out... Kids are a joke! I mean look at me... I was a joke. I'm an adult now and I'm STILL a joke! So can we talk about why people 1. want kids and 2. want to work with MULTIPLE kids? What do snotty nose kids with bad attitudes do for you? They're loud, they're whiny, they're annoying and they require so much love and attention... Guess what though. As I grew older and learned to truly love me, I learned that I had enough love to offer to every child that I encounter on a daily basis. When I got my mental health in order and began exuding positive energy, I started to see all of the amazing things in children like somebody once saw in me.

Our second month at the PW Book Club was a success! As we gathered together for wine and intellectual conversation, I was excited to see new faces and old. This month's featured book was "Own the Throne; A Women's Journey to Self Love and Discovery" by our very own friend and colleague, Terrace Sherman of Couture, Inc. Although Terrace was unable to join us for the discussion, she was Facetimed in and we had an absolute blast as we went over the gems she dropped for us! Keep reading for some of our favorite and deepest moments.

Cheers to the freakin' new year

One week down, 51 more to go! WE GOT THIS!

Personally, I do not believe that there is much that is more exciting than the feeling of a new year. New years are filled with new opportunities, new hopes, new goals and new possibilities. I pray that this year, I will feel that excited about my life each day, and I pray that all of you will too.

I have been thinking for a week now, about what I wanted my first post of the year to be. As a blogger, we are encouraged to always think about good content. We are pressured to be inspiring, authentic and truthful in our writing while also capturing the hearts and minds of readers near and far. It is not always an easy task to accomplish, but I decided that this year I would be more consistent in writing about what my heart needs to say and what my readers need to hear.
